Troop 315 July Newsletter
It was an amazing year at Camp Frontier. Noah Pelton worked on staff, Kyle and Aiden arrived Friday night, Levi and the troop took 3rd place in camp wide games. We started out with upper 90’s on Sunday and Monday and ended with showers and thunderstorms on Friday and Sat. Camp is always the highlight of our year and , yes! We are going Camp Berry in July.
July 1 – 7 Summer Camp at Camp Berry
You will not need your mess kits, but do make sure you have a water bottle for camp to stay hydrated. swim trunks. sunscreen, bug spray, shower supplies, clothes for 7 days, sleeping bag, pillow, Scout handbook. We will leave at 12:00pm Sunday, Wear class A shirt. Yes it’s gonna be hot. Please eat lunch prior to arriving. We will have supper around 5:45pm
August 18 Eagle Ceremony for Damon Dotson
The date has changed due to Dotson’s needing more planning time. Please make sure you attend his Eagle Ceremony. Location. American Legion, Time 2:00pm Saturday Aug 18. Full Class A uniform. Damon will select color guard and honor guard
July 15 Troop Elections
With Damon moving his Ceremony, We will resume our meetings on the 15th. with troop elections. Boy Led Troop allows the boys to vote on who will be SPL, ASPL, PL, APL, and other offices. This will take 2 meetings
July 28 Good Ole Summertime Food Booth
I ask that all scouts and one adult from each family sign up for the following times during the Good Ol’ Summertime. The food booth will be located in from of the Fire station and we are cooking burgers and Hot dogs plus doing custodial during the day. We will need 4 scouts per 2 hour shift along with a parents to help cook and tender money with scouts. Shifts are
10:00am – 12:00pm
12:00pm – 2:00pm
2:00pm – 4:00pm
4:00pm – 6:00pm
6:00pm – 8:00pm
8:00pm – 10:00pm
10:00 teardown and trash cleanup
Please email me with your shift. I will update and close shift after 4 scouts fill the time slot.
Mansfield Reformatory, August 10 – 12
A lot of interest is in this event. Cost is $10.00. We will leave Friday at 6:00pm and camp at a nearby farm. Friends of Crossroads Café owner Steve is offering a woods to camp at . We will tour the prison and also earn the Crime prevention merit badge, taught by James Bowling.
There are 2 parking lot dutties but don’t have times yet for those.
