October turned out to be very busy . Recap of the month includes; Parking lot duties at both Van Buren and Apple Butter; Penta Career Center camp ; Davis Besse Camp . A big thank you to Cub Scout Pack 372 for helping out the troop by collecting our scouting for food during the Atomic Energy Camp. As a community, we donated 525 items this year.
In other news. Wyatt Mowery has received the Scoutmaster scholarship from the troop in the amount of $500.00 towards college. Wyatt has been involved in scouting since cub scouts, his cheerful personality and commitment to scouting has shown over the years. We’ve all enjoyed his company and humor; but most of all, his personality, Wyatt achieved the rank of Eagle this summer and college bound, qualified him for the award.
Re charter
PLEASE READ; I have been informed from Boy Scouts of America, National office that our membership dues will be increasing to $60.00 per year. This is the time of year we re charter and pay all dues to the council. Yes it’s a big increase, Yes; I’m pretty frustrated with this news. I believe so much in our little town and our large scouting membership, that I do worry it may make families re think scouting. We do have great fundraising capability and that offsets the pinch so, I ask all parents and scouts to contact me if you feel the increase creates a hardship. The due date for the troop to have all membership dues in is December 30,2019. On a positive financial note, The apple butter festival has asked us to add a second parking lot which may offset this increase, pending we have parents who can commit that day. Scouts do make quite a bit of money throughout the year. One scout in particular has $600.00 in his account, so the potential is there.

December 28 Looking ahead
The scouts voted to change our outing on Video Game night this year. The plan includes a trip to RESET Pizza shop , in Toledo, which has over 30 retro video game machines and housed next to a Card shop ( Magic, Pathfinder ,D&D, etc. ) . Yes very nerdy :). The date will be December 28 and should cost us about $15.00 per scout / adult. We would leave N.B. at 3:00pm and head to Toledo. The establishment will close to minors at 7:00pm , we would come back home and stay all night at the scouthouse .
