November 11, 2015 was a special day at Powell Elementary. The history of Veteran’s Day was explained to the students. We also honored our employees who are veterans, Monica Davis, Zach Walls, and Pam Cheney. Students prepared special notes and were permitted to thank our veterans for their service. Many classes watched special programs, had special visitors or did special assignments related to Veteran’s Day
Students were encouraged to invite a special veteran to lunch. Our students invited moms, dads, and grandparents to be our guest for lunch. They were treated with a special dessert and got to sit in a special section of the cafeteria.
