  1. Municipal Building Roof Update –   Work continues on the municipal building roof.   They are finishing up the rubber roof at the back end of the fire department section of the building.  Next week they will be doing finish work and should have this project wrapped up by mid-August.
  1. Parcel Split/Zoning Change Request – REMINDER PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING CHANGE AT 6:30 PRIOR TO COUNCIL MEETING.

The Village Planning Commission met on Tuesday June 28, 2016 and heard the request from RKNC to split 30 feet x 95.02 feet from Parcel # F23-310-350210013001 owned by Ben & Erin Carlton and have it combined with Parcel # F23-310-350210002000 owned by RKNC.  This will allow RKNC, owners of the Drive-Thru, to add this area to enhance the driveway and turn-around.  The Planning Commission voted 5-0 to approve the split.

Ordinance 2016-__ amends the zoning for the 30 feet x 95.02 feet of property that is being split from Parcel # F23-310-350210013001 owned by Ben & Erin Carlton and combines it with Parcel # F23-310-350210002000 owned by RKNC.  This ordinance addresses the need to amend the zoning on the property that was split.  More detailed information will be provided at the council meeting.

  1. Lagoon Cleaning –PohlKat Company of Sidney, Ohio was out this week and took care of the Lagoon cleaning.
  1. Main Street Corridor – The received notice that we were awarded $ 289,951 in OPWC grant funds to replace he Main St. waterline between the RR tracks and Broadway St. The Village also applied for TIPP funding to cover paving in this same area once the Downtown Revitalization is complete and we will also apply for additional TIPP funding as well as additional funds from OPWC to attempt to extend the waterline replacement and paving further north.

Proposed Motion:  Recommendation to pass Ordinance 2016-04 as an emergency tonight to accept the $289,9521 grant from OPWC and begin the waterline replacement on North Main St.

  1. Update on 2016 Tree Removal Project –Ashcraft Tree Service has begun working on the hazard tree removal throughout the village.  The contract states that all trees will be removed prior to August 1, 2016.   If citizens have questions regarding tree removal please contact the village office.
  1. Village Awarded CDBG Grantthe Village submitted an application to the county for the next round of CDBG funding to update our Little League Concession Stand Restrooms at the Village Park to ADA compliant Restrooms to allow easier access for all visitors to the park. The Wood County Planning Commission and County Commissioner approved our grant, one of only four in Wood County to be approved.  Work can begin on this project after January 1, 2017.
  1. Communications Tower The Village received one bid for the Communications Tower Project that was opened on June 24. 2016 at 2:00pm. Perry Pro-Tech had the only bid at $72,335.23.  This is substantially lower than quotes I had received from another vendor early in the year.  Soil borings were completed this past week and a pre-construction meeting will take place the second week in August with construction beginning immediately after that.
  1. Wastewater Plant Headwork’s Project – The new building is up and the roof was completed the week of July 29.  Despite all the information in the press and social media we still have only received one complaint on the sewer headworks project.  Peterson Construction will soon be working on replacing the pump station at the Pilot Station at I75 for the final steps in this project.
