Village Council Appoints Interim Police Chief

The Village Council of North Baltimore met for a special meeting on Thursday (8/16) to approve pending legislation and to appoint a Police Chief.

Following an executive session, and in a unanimous 6-0 vote, they authorized Mayor Goldner to name Scott Herrick as Interim Police Chief effective immediately.

Chief Herrick is replacing Allan Baer who left his position to work in Lucas County.

Herrick has been in the law enforcement field since 2003. His first position was with the former Portage Police Department. He has been in North Baltimore for 11 years, and was the first person hired by former chief Baer.

Prior to his career in law enforcement, Herrick owned his own delivery business for 16 years. He lives outside of Wayne, Ohio.
