Walter M. “Walt” Tylicki, age 50, of Romulus, Michigan passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017.
He was born November 22, 1966 in El Paso, Texas to Walter L. and Carol A. (Fazekas) Tylicki. Walt was a Supervisory Special Agent for Norfolk Southern Railway Police Department, who began his career in North Baltimore, Ohio as an auxiliary officer and EMT first responder. During his tenure at Norfolk Southern, he served as a training instructor, fire arms instructor, and armorer. Also, Walt was a K-9 officer on Norfolk Southern’s Special Operations Response Team. In addition to his position with the railroad, he was currently serving as Chief of Police for the Village of Walbridge. Walt’s favorite pastimes included hunting and fishing, especially in southern Ohio. He was a talented woodworker, who could build or repair anything.
Walt is survived by his children, Andrew, Stephanie, Craig and Samantha Tylicki of Romulus, MI; parents, Walter and Carol of Toledo, OH; brothers, Matthew (Kathy) Tylicki of Waynesboro, PA and Brian Tylicki of Jacksonville, FL; former spouse, Marianne Tylicki; several nieces and nephews; a special friend; and his K-9, Max.
Family and friends may visit Wednesday, July 19 from 4-8 pm and Thursday, July 20 from 2-8 pm at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with a vigil service Thursday at 6 pm. Services for Walt will begin Friday, July 21 at 10 am in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Service at 11 am in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
