Cattails were a foraging staple in northwest Ohio from American Indians to Black Swamp pioneers to 1930s farmers. Learn cattail natural history, how to harvest cattails, and a basic cattail-shoot recipe. (If a late winter prevents an early harvest, we’ll make a recipe substitution but still learn about the cattails.) No experience necessary. Cost: $10/ $5 FWCP.
