The Kountry Cupboard in Downtown North Baltimore will host an exclusive autograph signing event at the store on Saturday, November 15th, from 12 noon until 3:00p.m. Artist Billy Jacobs will sign pieces of his art collection for customers and fans that are able to visit during the special hours.
Jacobs is the owner of Billy Jacobs Art Gallery, which is filled with many of Billy’s paintings as well as general country gift merchandise and loads of primitive antiques.
His Art Gallery and Antique Shop is housed in the Historic Rochester House, built in the late 1830’s by John and Andrew Stahl on land given to their father for services rendered to George Washington. The famous Inn located in Navarre, Ohio near the banks of the Ohio-Erie Canal once housed many historic figures including Ulysses S. Grant and William McKinley and was part of the Underground Railroad.
Owner of the Kountry Cupboard, and the adjacent Ice Cream Food Goodies Shoppe, Mary Ward, said she will have plenty of Jacob’s well-known canvas art pieces available for signing on Saturday. “I have had a lot of special orders come in from local fans of Billy’s work. They are looking forward to having him sign them. They will be great Christmas gifts” she said. He was previously here last January.
Ward is also organizing a fundraiser raffle, to benefit the “Campaign to Keep the Virginia Theater Open”. “I am donating FIVE SIGNED Billy Jacobs Prints for the raffle, and all the proceeds will benefit the Theater.” She stated, “I just wanted to do something to help a fellow downtown NB business” Ward is hoping to have Doug Wickard of the Virginia Theater, or a Committee member present to help draw the winning raffle tickets on November 22. Tickets are on sale now at the Ice Cream Food Goodies Shoppe. Contact Ward at either business for more information.
