Here are some interesting programs being offered through the Wood County Park District:

Invasive Plants are Taking Over
Tuesday, February 13; 6:30 – 7:30 pm
W.W. Knight Nature Preserve

Learn several invasive plant species in Wood County. Discover how the stewardship department combats invasive species in every park and how to seek and destroy these alien invaders.

Love Stories from Nature

Can’t get enough of those warm, fuzzy Valentine’s Day feelings? Keep the celebration going by learning about how animals go about finding their special someone. Then head outside for a night hike to listen for owls calling to a mate.

Experience a Wood County at war with members of Anthony Wayne’s Legion from Fallen Timbers Battlefield Commission and members of the 68th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, as they demonstrate the gear, weapons, clothes, tactics, and more, of historic winter soldiers of the 1790s and the Civil War. No registration needed! Come anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm.

Frog Monitoring Training

Connect to your parks and add to our knowledge of native frogs and toads by joining the Frog and Toad Calling Survey. Volunteer monitors will be trained to conduct surveys and identify frog species by sight and sound. This is an ongoing volunteer program.
