William Harrison “Bill” Combs, Jr., 78, NB

William Harrison “Bill” Combs, Jr., 78 died on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at his residence.

He was born in Pikeville, KY on December 17, 1936, to the late William Harrison and Rachel Bell (Daniels) Combs, Sr. Bill served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He married Carole Stemen and they spent 57 years together and she survives along with four children; Kim Combs of North Baltimore, Karen Combs of Findlay, Bill (Tina) Combs of North Baltimore and Sheri (Rich) Dimond of North Baltimore. He is also survived by two brothers; Robert (Linda) Combs of Perrysburg and John (Betty) McSurely of Waterville, a sister, Wilma Martin of KY, five grandchildren; Rachel (James) Ankney, Wesley Wittenmyer, Rick (Danielle) Morris, Jodi (Tony) Dlugleski, Richie Dimond and fourteen great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by fourteen siblings.

Bill worked as a Mason and was a longtime member of the Cement Masons and Plasterers #886. He was also a member and past president of the North Baltimore Eagles. Bill was a avid sports fan who enjoyed the New York Yankees, St. Louis Rams and the L.A. Lakers. He loved his family and was a great gardener.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at New Maplewood Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by the North Baltimore American Legion Post #539. Online condolences can be sent via www.smithcrates.com.
