William M. Holloway, 78, of Cygnet, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at the Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
He was born on August 21, 1935, to the late William C. and Dorothy (McFall) Holloway, Jr. in North Baltimore.
On January 29, 1971, he married Janet Vanaman and she survives. He is also survived by his children: Cindy (Jim LaVoy) Sigg of Maumee and Suzanne (Bill) Bucher of North Baltimore; William F. (Mie) Holloway of Coppel, TX; his two sisters: Valerie McGuire of Westerville and Gwen Wynkoop of Findlay; his seven grandchildren: Ben, Greg, Kevin, Jordan, Lisa, Katie and Julia. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Gainsley and a brother, Kent Holloway.
Bill retired after 44 years as a Mason for Local Union 3. He graduated from North Baltimore High School in 1953, and was a member of the St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539, the North Baltimore Fraternal Order of Eagles #2633. and the Port Clinton Moose Lodge #1610.
Bill and Jan have enjoyed 34 years of camping at Paradise Acres Campground, Oak Harbor. Bill enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and gardening, but his greatest joy and love in life was his family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, March 3, 2014, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Baltimore, where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore. Pastor Ralph Mineo will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and/or North Baltimore Legion Post 539.
