ADULT TRICK, TREAT & TOUR FULL of FOLKLORE FUN – Historical Center Hosts an Evening of Magic & Folklore
The Friday Night Folklore Trick, Treat, & Tour will be held on Friday, October 27 from 7:00 – 10:00 PM at the Wood County Historical Center & Museum, 13660 County Home Road in Bowling Green. Guests will set their own path around the grounds of the Wood County Historical Center with story-stops at the Pauper’s Cemetery, Lunatic Asylum, Linwood Walking Bridge, spooky trail, scarecrow alley, and the Oil Derrick. Costumes welcome (but not necessary) to make the most of the Victorian Death Culture Selfie Barn. Inside the Museum, witness a séance gone wrong, the Mary Bach fingers, and a special feature from local magician and entertainer Andrew Martin. Magic performances are limited to only 5 shows.
Tickets are $15 per adult with discounts for Wood County Historical Society members and student ID holders, and can be purchased by calling 419-352-0967 or visiting woodcountyhistory.org. Dress appropriate for weather, especially footwear and outerwear, and bring a flashlight. Museum Gift Shop open.

The Wood County Historical Center & Museum will also host several Wood County Park District folklore events in October: scarecrow-making contest and workshop (Oct. 10), pumpkin contest and workshop (Oct. 12) , and the annual free Folklore & Funfest (October 14). The Historical Museum is looking for Concessions Volunteers to sell cocoa, coffee, and cookies (seated, but outside) AND Guides to ride in the horse-drawn wagon and share museum and folklore tales (provided). - Grand Rapids Applebutter Fest
Our friends in Grand Rapids Ohio have an a-PEEL-ing opportunity! Volunteers are needed to peel apples in preparation for the Fest (Oct. 8) on Wednesday, October 4 (5-8 PM) and Thursday, October 5 (8 am until done) at the “OLD” Fire Station in Downtown Grand Rapids.
