During the month of October Wood County Hospital will present a variety of free community wellness programs at the hospital that are open to the public.
A Vaccines and Your Child talk will be given Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Pediatrician Melissa Moore, MD., will talk about the history of vaccines and how they have eradicated various fatal diseases. She will also discuss how vaccines protect children from unnecessary illnesses and disease and the timelines vaccinations should be given.
A presentation on Distracted Driving will be given for adults, parents and teen drivers on Tuesday, October 6 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. A panel of presenters will provide sobering statistics, heartfelt stories of the costs of Distracted Driving, and offer simple steps that drivers can use to help themselves and others around them be safer drivers.
Dr. Carlos Gomez, orthopedic surgeon will discuss total knee replacement surgery using the personalized joint replacement technology on Wednesday, October 7 from 6 to 7 p.m. Personalized joint replacement allows surgeons to plan a patient’s knee replacement using 3D images of his or her own joint.
