Drip drop! It’s raining! For this program, we’ll talk all about water and the many forms it comes in, go on a hunt for water sources, and even make it rain indoors! Adult companions must remain with children for this program. Children ages 3-6. Register participating child only. Please wear appropriate clothing for rain or cold weather.

Sawyer Quarry Nature Preserve

Come anytime between 6:00 and 8:00 to get hands-on with the quarry rock as staff share knowledge, tips, and tricks to ready beginners for climbing safely in this ever-challenging outdoor sport. Crash pads for safe landing and limited chalk supplied. Wear flexible, yet sturdy footwear with good grip. Program will be taking place behind the tan house in the quarry. Wear flexible clothing appropriate for the weather. No registration required.

Slow down and engage in a favorite hobby! Led by Friends’ of the Parks members Jill Konst and Ranaye McLaughlin, participants will make a card and create a page to add to a scrapbook. Supplies and light refreshments are included, please bring your own adhesive.

Join our teen naturalist club! We’ll take a closer look at a different topic each month, covering everything from astronomy to zoology. Meetings are held once a month. during the school year. Meetings will resume in the fall. March: Birds and Migration. April: Water. May: End-of-school-year picnic.

Join in the fun of this quarterly program for anyone interested in rug crocheting. Bring your own cotton cloth if you plan to work on something to take home. Material provided to work on a rug for the Carter Farm museum. Craft instruction provided by Friends of the Park’s board member Virginia Dean. If you are brand new to crocheted rugs, come at 6:00 pm this month for a jump-start. Snacks provided.

Arrive anytime between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm to give archery a shot! All archery equipment provided, along with brief beginner-friendly instruction from our certified instructors. Children must be at least 7 years of age or older to use our equipment. No registration required.
Full Moon Walk

Enjoy a gentle stroll under the full Pink moon as we learn moon lore and look and listen for nocturnal wildlife. No dogs permitted.
