Canoe Paddle Skills

W.W. Knight Nature Preserve, Friends Green Room

Learn the paddle skills you’ll need to have your canoe dancing on the water! Take this American Canoe Association certified course to understand canoe safety and skills to become a canoe maneuvering master. All canoe gear provided. Participant must be 14 or older; minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Dress for the weather and for swimming.

Hop on the bus with a naturalist to visit some of the hidden gems of the park system. Each visit will include a brief nature hike. Leader: Jim Witter

Watering a kitchen vegetable garden wasn’t easy in the 1930s. Learn water conservation tricks and garden tips. Help construct rain barrels for the gardens and you can take home a starter kit.
