Food Preservation Series: Canned Green Tomatoes
Wednesday, August 16; 6:00 – 9:00 pm

Carter Historic Farm

You did it again—you put in too many tomato plants! Learn what you can do with the fruit before it gets ripe to help keep up. Try a new recipe of an experienced canner, or learn the basics of hot bath canning if you’re new to it. Go home with your own pint of canned green tomatoes.

Intro to Rope Rappelling
Saturday, August 19; 9:00 am – 1:30 pm

Sawyer Quarry Nature Preserve

26940 Lime City Road, Perrysburg

It’s a day of rope rappelling fun! A brief orientation will cover gear and safety procedures, then it’s off to the 25-35 foot cliffs. Safety equipment, instruction/guiding, and water are provided; bring a water bottle, sack lunch, and snacks. Participants must be 12 years of age or older. Closed-toe footwear only; access to the cliff tops requires short hikes on slightly uneven terrain.

Slippery Elm Trail: Rudolph Depot

Mermill Road, just west of Rudolph Road, near 14059 Mermill Road
