Greenhouse Help

Come help us grow plants at the Native Nursery and Greenhouse. Volunteers may be asked to perform a variety of functions such as transplanting seedlings, filling pots, or watering plants. No experience necessary.
Friends of the Wood County Park District General Membership Meeting

Love in the Sky

Explore the stars through mythological tales of love, jealousy, faithfulness, and betrayal from around the world. Spotting scopes and a telescope will be on hand and ready to use, but feel free to bring your own! Hot drinks will be available in the lodge. Dress for the outdoors. Cost: $5; FWCP $3. Living Green at Home: Green Edition

Learn tips and tricks to help you reduce your heating costs this winter! In this 2nd Edition of Living Green at Home, you will get a refresher on how to save energy and money by doing simple things around your home. Join the discussion on comparison of alternative energy options, insulation, home improvements, and efficient appliances. You may even win a green living prize at the end of the program! Brown Bag Lunch and Seed Cleaning!
Saturday, February 21, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Park District Headquarters: Community Classroom

Pack your lunch (refrigerator and microwave available) and come help us clean the last of the native seeds for the season. You can stay part of the time or all 4 hours. These seeds were collected by volunteers to be propagated in the greenhouse or sown out in the parks. No experience needed and all the work will be done indoors in the heat! Leader: Lori Parratt
The Wood County Park District Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist (OCVN) program is now accepting applications for the 2015 OCVN course..
