Rappelling Trip
to Hocking Hills
Friday, September 30 – October 2;
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Join us for a fun filled, two night rope rappelling trip to Hocking Hills! We will camp at Old Man’s Cave Campground and commute the few miles to the Hocking State Forest Rock Climbing and Rappelling Area to enjoy the beautiful sandstone cliffs standing over 100′ tall. We will use a group campsite, so there’s plenty of room to set up tents and tarps with extra space. You need your own camping gear (sleeping bag, camp chair, flashlight, tent, bug spray, water bottle, etc), but Park District tents are available to rent for $5. Dinner both on the drive down and on the drive back will be stops at fast food restaurants and are on your own, but all other meals on the trip are included. All necessary rappelling gear is included. Bring a small daypack to help carry lunch and snacks to the cliffs for the day. We will be using our 15 passenger bus and an enclosed luggage trailer to travel. Meeting place and vehicle parking will be at our Park District Headquarters and we will depart from there after a short trip briefing. Please note: attendance at a previous rappelling program is required to attend this trip. Online registration is not available for this program. Please visit www.wcparks.org or contact Ranger Shawn Ruemmele at [email protected] for more information.
