Volunteer Naturalist Experience

Saturday, November 8; 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Rudolph Savanna

Rudolph Road, .5 miles north of Mermill Road, Rudolph

Explore the parks with naturalist staff to further develop your knowledge and interpretive skills.  Perfect for Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists wanting to assist with hikes and other nature programs; this program is also open to the public.  In case of inclement weather, an indoor interpretive session will be provided. Prune the Dunes

Bradner Preserve

Help bring one of Wood County’s rare sand dune areas back to its natural state.  Anyone needing community service hours or just wanting to lend a hand through hearty, physical, outdoor activity can join Park District staff for part or all of this three-hour weed and brush clearing.  We’ll provide the tools, light refreshments, and a warming fire. Jasper-Pulaski Wildlife Area

Meet at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve

Each fall at Jasper-Pulaski Wildlife Area in western Indiana, sandhill cranes gather to refuel before continuing to their wintering grounds in the southern U.S. Bring your cameras, as there should be excellent opportunities to photograph these birds.
